Referrals for Professionals
We accept referrals from dentists across Portsmouth for dental imaging and root canal treatment that their own practice does not provide. Everything happens at our Copnor Road practice, with a CBCT scanner and an operating microscope on site.

Why refer to us
Specialist equipment and experience, close to your practice.
Not every practice has the space or the caseload to justify a CBCT scanner, and many dentists prefer to pass complex root canal cases to a colleague with further training. Referring to us gives your patient access to that equipment and experience locally, and we aim to see them as quickly as possible.
You remain their dentist throughout. We see the patient for the referred service only, and they return to you for their ongoing care.
information for referring dentists
Two services you can refer for.
01
OPG and CBCT scans
Our Planmeca unit takes both orthopantomograms and cone beam CT scans, producing detailed images at a low radiation dose. Three-dimensional imaging helps where a conventional radiograph does not show enough, such as planning implants, assessing impacted teeth or investigating a suspected root fracture.
Every scan is taken by trained, indemnified staff. Images are sent digitally to you or your patient as soon as they are ready. Paper copies are also available on request.
Scans are supplied without a report unless you ask for one.

Endodontic referrals
Root canal treatment and retreatment referrals are seen by Dr Terrianne Douglas (MSc BDS, GDC 85799).
She works with a dental operating microscope, which makes it easier to find and clean narrow or hidden canals and to retreat teeth where an earlier root filling has failed. For many patients, this is the difference between keeping a tooth and losing it.
Every case starts with an endodontic assessment, which includes any imaging required. Treatment goes ahead only once the assessment confirms the tooth is suitable.
