Our fees

Private dental fees you can check before you book

Coast Dental Health is a private, pay-as-you-go dental practice on Copnor Road in Portsmouth. You pay for the care you receive at each visit, and there is no requirement to join a monthly plan.

Our fees are listed on this page so you know what an appointment is likely to cost before you arrive. Where a price is shown as “from”, the final fee depends on the tooth involved, the material used and the time the treatment takes. Your dentist will examine you, explain your options and confirm the cost before any treatment begins.

Under 18s

Children are entitled to free NHS dental treatment, so private care is a choice. Parents who choose Coast do so for longer appointments, a patient approach and white fillings as standard. We do not use silver fillings.

Our priority is prevention, and we consider every alternative before removing a baby tooth, because early experiences influence how a child feels about dental visits as an adult.

why routine care matters

Why regular dental care costs less over time.

Routine examinations

Tooth decay and gum disease rarely cause pain in their early stages. By the time a tooth hurts, it often needs a root treatment or a crown instead of a small filling. A routine examination allows your dentist to find these changes early, when treatment is simpler and less expensive. Every adult examination at Coast also includes an oral cancer screen.

Hygience appointments

Gum disease is the most common reason adults lose teeth. A hygiene appointment removes the hardened deposits that brushing at home cannot, helping to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Regular hygiene appointments can help prevent gum problems from becoming more serious and give you advice on caring for your teeth and gums at home.
