Looking after your teeth for the long term.

At Coast Dental Health we provide private general dentistry in Portsmouth for adults and children. We take time to listen to your concerns, explain what we find and set out your options and their costs before any treatment begins. If you are nervous about visiting the dentist, we work at your pace.

All care is provided at our practice on Copnor Road by clinicians registered with the General Dental Council. We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and we use digital X-rays, which need a lower dose of radiation.

Missing Teeth

A missing tooth can affect how you eat, speak and smile. We offer dental implants, which replace the root of a tooth and support a crown, bridge or denture, and new dentures made in our on-site dental laboratory. Replacing a missing tooth also stops the neighbouring teeth from moving into the gap, which protects your bite.

Suitable for: one or more missing teeth, or loose dentures.

Gum Health

Gum disease is the most common reason adults lose their teeth. It starts with plaque along the gum line, which causes redness and bleeding, and can go on to damage the bone that holds your teeth in place. Our hygienists and therapists remove plaque and hardened deposits, and show you how to keep your gums healthy at home.

Suitable for: bleeding or sore gums and routine hygiene visits.

Emergency Dentistry

Emergency appointments are available during normal opening hours for toothache, broken teeth, lost fillings, infections and damaged crowns or dentures. You do not need to be registered with us. In an emergency, your mouth is assessed first and the options and costs are explained before treatment.

Suitable for: dental pain, swelling, or a broken tooth or filling.

General treatments

Routine care that keeps your teeth healthy at every age. Treatment includes dental examinations with oral cancer screening, tooth-coloured composite fillings and children’s dental care, provided in a calm setting by a team you get to know. Visits are planned around your needs.

Your appointment

Not sure which appointment you need?

Many people come to us knowing that something is wrong but not what treatment they need. Often the answer is a combination, such as an examination followed by a hygiene visit and a small filling. An examination gives you a clear plan and the costs involved, with no obligation to go ahead. 0% finance is available over 12 months on larger treatments.
